5 of the Hottest Summer Wellness Trends for 2018
With the weather finally warming up and allergy season coming to an end, we’re approaching one of the best times of the year to truly get a hold of your health. We believe these five summer wellness trends are more than passing phases—they can truly work wonders for you!
5 Summer Wellness Trends that are Here to Stay
1. Dry Brushing
Elements of Rockville Centre has been on the dry brushing bandwagon for quite some time (check out this blog we wrote a while back). It’s incredible for your skin, and even promote lymphatic drainage.
One of the top benefits the way it exfoliates. In the summertime, if you exfoliate too hard, you can actually become more sensitive to the sun. Gentle dry brushing a few times per week will lightly exfoliate your skin, keeping the dead skin off without making you burn as soon as you step outside.
2. Sun-blocking Skincare
While this has been one of the top wellness trends for the last few summers, skincare products like lotions and makeup that have SPF are now an absolute must. Regardless of your skin type or budget, you can find a product that suits your needs.
We have some other skincare suggestions, all of which rely on natural products, in a previous blog. Check it out here.
Simply putting your favorite essential oil in an aromatherapy diffuser can heal your body and mind. It can relieve stress, improve your mood, help you sleep better and much, much more. Not to mention, it makes your home smell incredible.
We’ll also take this moment for a bit of shameless self-promotion. Elements of Rockville Centre has just introduced a brand new modality called AromaRitual™. It includes three exclusive essential oils that calm, energize and refresh your mind and body. If you decide to come in for a massage in the near future, you won’t regret adding an AromaRitual™ upgrade to your session!
4. Activated Charcoal
Activated charcoal has so many benefits, they almost seem too good to be true. You’re most likely already familiar with activated charcoal-based toothpaste, but did you know it could also do the following?
Activated charcoal is known to have a few side effects and react adversely with some medications, so always check in with your primary care physician before using it.
Breathwork sometimes called “mindful breathing,” involves using breathing exercises to improve your health. It’s similar to meditation and other mindfulness exercises.
Breathwork has tons of benefits, ranging from the treatment of anger issues to coping with stress. During more advanced breathwork, such as holotropic breathing, people sometimes report experiencing feelings of euphoria.
Did we forget any wellness trends you plan on trying out this summer?
